Participation as a social process seeks to help all groups of people at all stages of development. There for and with this viewpoint a participation is in fact a "program for society" that addresses all people in society and targets public attention Including economic a political a social a cultural and other needs Ethnic). On the other hand, the definition of a multilateral a comprehensive and balanced development framework is essential. Therefore, a public participation is a comprehensive process in which the general public plays a role in various stages of development (including planning, decision-making, management, monitoring, evaluation, and revision). On the other hand, attention to sustainable development is not only an idealistic ideal, but also, necessary condition for sustainable development. In other words, the participation of people as the main factor for achieving the desired development pattern through the proper use of resources, opportunities and distribution It is fair. Which is the same as the linking agent and integrating the main elements in the development process. In the present article, after reviewing the theoretical foundations related to the subject matter of the research, we try to identify the aspects of the contribution to the realization of sustainable development and the good governance of the city and to examine their overlap in the issue of the city. The main objective of this paper is to investigate and identify the factors affecting sustainable urban development with an emphasis on public participation. The results of this survey indicate that it is possible to achieve sustainable development in a good urban governance environment, using public participation.
