The Relation Between Organizational Support and Job Satisfaction with The Intention of Turnover in the Staff

Abstract

This research aims to determine the relation between organizational support and job satisfaction with the intention of turnover of staffs in Islamic Azad University of Sari. The present study is a descriptive research of survey kind. The population includes 267 from all the staffs of Islamic Azad University of Sari. The sample size was 159 people obtained by Kerjecy & Morgan Table. The sampling method is simple random sampling. Three standardized questionnaires have been used for collecting the data: organizational support questionnaire by Isenberg et. al. (1986): 8 questions, the questionnaire of job satisfaction: 63 questions and leaving job questionnaire: 10 questions. The validity of questionnaires has been confirmed by management experts. The reliability for the questionnaire of organizational support, the questionnaire of job satisfaction and leaving job questionnaire has been calculated 819, 822 and 880, respectively. Given that the calculated alpha is greater than 0.7, it indicates that reliability of the questionnaire is acceptable. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was used to analyze the data by SPSS software and Pearson correlation coefficient was used to assess the normality of variables. The analysis found a significant relation between organizational support and the intention of abandoning the job by the staff of Islamic Azad University of Sari. There is a significant relation between job satisfaction and the Satisfaction with work and supervisor and colleague and the promotion and payment with the intention of turnover among the staff of Islamic Azad University of Sari.
